The company that made ultra high-end designer handbags available to millions has changed its name. Bag, Borrow, or Steal will now be known as Avelle. Along with this news comes reports that Avelle will soon be offering watches, evening wear, luggage, and more luxury accessories for rent.

“Avelle more accurately reflects who we are as we expand our offering significantly beyond our handbag beginnings”, said Michael Smith, CEO of the company formerly known as Bag, Borrow, or Steal.

A large part of the company’s sudden growth spurt can probably be attributed to the huge boost of handbag rental activity inspired by the company’s cameo in the recent Sex and the City movie.

Recent consumer research has indicated that people are very interested in renting other types of luxury items, in addition to handbags. Currently you can rent designer handbags, sunglasses, and jewelry from Avelle. Their handbag roster features just about every major designer you can think of (over 100 of them), including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Chanel, Hermès, Isabella Fiore, Marc Jacobs, and many more. New items are always being added.

Existing Bag, Borrow, or Steal customers need not be concerned about the switch. It’s still the same company, just with a different name. So, you can continue handbag borrowing to your heart’s content!
