Fendi

Fendi Studded Medium Bag Du Jour

One of the most popular names in designer handbags, Fendi is an Italian fashion house that has been around since 1918. Originally opening as a fur and leather shop in Rome, it has grown significantly over the years and evolved into the multinational luxury goods brand that it is today. Fendi is owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton – Moët Hennessy), which is also the parent company of Louis Vuitton, as well as Prada.

The company did not adopt the name Fendi until 1925, when founder Adele Casagrande married Edoardo Fendi. Fendi went on to see marginal success in Europe and eventually was introduced in the United States thanks to Bloomingdale’s president Marvin Traub, who had discovered Fendi’s fine leather goods and decided to bring them overseas.

Fendi’s trademark “Zucca” print, the famous “double F” logo pattern, came about in the 1960s after being designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The iconic logo can be found on a variety of Fendi products, including handbags, luggage, wallets, and more. World famous rapper Kanye West was once spotted at a party with the Fendi logo shaved into his head.

Today, Fendi is an extremely sought-after designer brand and has recently become a piece of pop culture. Both the Black Eyed Peas and Jeffree Star have referenced the Fendi brand in their lyrics.

Although handbags are the bread and butter of the Fendi brand, they also offer a variety of other products. Just recently they launched their newest brand, Fendi Casa, which offers a vast array of high-end home furnishings. Fendi Casa products include sofas, armchairs, poufs, consoles, and much, much more.
